Privacy Policy

1. Who this policy covers
This policy explains how Scoutela processes personal data when you browse study listings, create an account, complete a matching profile, subscribe, use referral features or contact support. Scoutela is a study-discovery service; we do not run the studies listed on the platform.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: email address, authentication identifier, display name and profile image.
- Matching profile: age, gender if provided, country, region, city, occupation, interests and preferred study formats.
- Membership data: plan, subscription status and Stripe customer/subscription identifiers. Stripe processes full payment-card details; Scoutela does not store them.
- Referral data: referral code, inviter relationship, referral counts and credits.
- Usage data: viewed pages, saved studies, provider-link clicks, device/browser details, approximate country and cookie choices.
- Support and rights requests you send to us.
3. Why we use data
We use account and subscription data to perform our contract with you; profile data to provide matching you request; necessary technical data for security and service operation; optional analytics only with consent where required; and records required for legal compliance or legitimate fraud-prevention interests.
4. Matching and AI explanations
Profile fields may be used to rank studies and explain apparent matches. A score is a discovery aid, not an eligibility decision. Study providers make their own screening decisions. Scoutela will not use solely automated processing to make a legal or similarly significant decision about you.
5. Sharing
We may use Firebase/Google Cloud for authentication and data storage, Stripe for payments, hosting and email providers, and consented analytics services. We do not sell personal data and do not send your Scoutela profile to study providers. Opening a provider link takes you to an independent third party with its own privacy practices.
6. International transfers and retention
Providers may process data outside your country using applicable transfer safeguards. We keep account data while the account is active, transaction records as legally required, and analytics according to configured retention periods. Deleted-account data is removed or anonymized unless retention is required.
7. Your choices and rights
Depending on your location, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability or withdrawal of consent, and may complain to a competent data-protection authority. Withdrawing consent does not affect earlier lawful processing.
8. Children
Scoutela accounts are intended for people aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly create profiles for children.
9. Security and contact
We use access controls, encrypted transport and provider security controls, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. Contact privacy@scoutela.com for privacy requests. The legal entity name and postal address must be inserted before commercial launch.
